"We decided to follow the truth and not the former president Uhuru Kenyatta because we knew we were doing the will of God," Ichung'wa said. Majority leader in parliament Kimani Ichungwa said it seemed impossible for President William Ruto to become president but he had now taken over the reigns of power because of God's will. He said residents of Uasin Gishu and the entire Rift Valley should continue to support the president so that he delivers on his mandate and transform the country to a developing nation within the next ten years. He said Kenya had many challenges but the Kenya Kwanza government under Ruto would turn around the economy and put a smile on the faces of Kenyans. Wetangula said those who had been perpetrating and selling fear and tribalism to Kenyans had now retreated to shame. He said the biggest causality of the recent elections was tribalism. Speaker of the national assembly Moses Wetangula who was present said Ruto was elected because many Kenyans believe he has a vision to take the county to greater heights. He said the government would plan to reduce the same to about sh2,500 per 50kg bag. Gachagua said state institutions which had been used to target him and Ruto should know that they had been forgiven and should now focus on working for Kenyans.Īt the same time he said prices of fertilizer had been reduced from more than Sh6,500 to about Sh3,500. He said Ruto had now been named as Kamau in Mt Kenya region where they considered him as one of them. "On behalf of the president, I say thank you for standing with all of us despite all those challenges that were put against us," Gachagua said.
He said Ruto, his wife Rachel and close allies had been publicly humiliated but the Kalenjin community remained peaceful and behind the Kenya Kwanza team. Gachagua said residents of the Rift Valley region had been mature and patient even as Ruto was frustrated by the former government. He thanked residents of Uasin Gishu for voting for the Kenya Kwanza team. "What human beings had planned and done to Ruto and his team, as human beings we would not have managed and we thank God for his grace," Gachagua said. He said Ruto would not have been president were it not for God. "Farouk ensured that we had smooth campaigns leading to victory in the elections", Gachagwa said. Gachagua praised Kibet for playing a bigger role in the victory of Kenya Kwanza. The inter-denominational prayers was organized by Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet and churches in the region.
He was speaking during thanksgiving prayers at Koilel near President William Ruto's home in Uasin Gishu. He said under Ruto's government, police would be supported to perform their duties effectively and work well with members of the public. "We will not use them to disrespect elected leaders or arrest innocent people on Fridays just for purposes of frustrating them," Gachagua said.
He said he had met with all county commissioners and regional coordinators and assured them that they would not be used for politics under the Kenya Kwanza government. The DP said Ruto’s government would not weaponize or use state institutions like the police, KRA, EACC, DCI, county commissioners to target innocent people the way it was done to him and Ruto during retired President Uhuru’s government. "Kenyans want to know the truth always and I am not the type who will change from telling the truth," Gachagua said. He told off those in state institutions who were opposed to his stand on stating the truth about the country's economy. Gachagua said Ruto's government had forgiven all those who frustrated him and now wants to move forward with all Kenyans. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hailed residents of the Rift Valley region for firmly standing with President William Ruto at the time he was facing frustrations from the regime of former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
